88th Edition of Know India Programme (KIP)

The Know India Programme (KIP) is an initiative by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, aimed at connecting Indian diaspora youth with their ancestral homeland. The programme provides an opportunity for participants to enhance their understanding of India’s culture, heritage, economy, and contemporary development.

The 88th KIP is a three-week immersive “knowledge tourism” programme offering exposure to various aspects of India’s growth and development. It is designed for youth of Indian origin (excluding NRIs). Each edition selects 40 participants and provides full hospitality in India. Additionally, the Government of India bears 90% of the international airfare.


1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality / Origin: Youth of Indian origin (PIO / OCI cardholders). NRIs not eligible.
  • Applicants must provide OCI/PIO card number (self/parents/grandparents) or undertaking of Indian origin.
  • Age: 21–35 years (as on first day of programme month).
  • Previous Participation: Must not have participated in previous KIP or GoI sponsored programme.
  • Educational Qualification: Graduate from recognized university/institution.
  • Language: Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Preference: Applicants who have not visited India earlier.
  • Insurance: Valid international travel & medical insurance mandatory.
  • Medical Fitness: Fitness certificate required for long travel.
  • Programme Report: Submit 750–1000 word report after completion.

  • Three weeks including international travel
