Visa Application Guidelines
1. Regular Visa Application (Sticker Visa)
All applicants for an Indian visa must complete the application online, print the form, sign it, and submit it to the Embassy with the required documents.
Click on “Regular/Paper Visa Application”.
2. Electronic Visa (e-Visa)
Lithuanian nationals are eligible to apply for an e-Visa online. This is suitable for short-term travel. No visit to the Embassy is needed for e-Visa.
- Upload a scanned copy of your passport and a recent digital photograph.
- Pay the visa fee online using a credit or debit card.
- Submit your application at least 4 days before your travel date.

Click on “Apply here for e-visa”.
3. Additional Forms for Special Visa Categories
- Applicants for certain visa types must complete supplementary forms, in addition to the online application (Please refer to the Embassy website or contact us for the latest versions of these forms.)
4. Restricted Area Permit (RAP)
- Some regions in India require a Restricted Area Permit in addition to a visa (e.g., Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands).
- The Embassy of India in Vilnius can issue RAPs for stays up to 14 days.
- A separate application form and fee apply.
- For longer visits, permits can be obtained directly in India at a lower cost.

5. Instructions for Completing the Regular Visa Application Form
- The information entered on the first page (country, mission, nationality, date of birth, email ID, expected date of travel, visa type) cannot be changed later.
- Use only English characters; replace special letters (e.g., ä → a, ö → o).
- Use slashes in dates (e.g., 15/03/1970), not dots.
- Use space instead of hyphen (e.g., Tom-Erik → Tom Erik).
- Some devices (especially Apple products) or browsers may not function properly. Try another browser if needed.
- Step-by-Step Guide
- Page 1: Basic Information
- Select the country as "Lithuania".
- Enter estimated date of arrival in India.
- Choose the appropriate visa type (Tourist, Business, etc.).
- Page 2: Application ID
- A temporary Application ID is generated. Save this for reference.
- Page 3: Personal Details
- Enter your surname (family name) and given names.
- Fill in your current and permanent address.
- Provide parents’ details. If you don't know their city of birth, the country of birth is acceptable.
Note: Compulsory military service is not considered "military service" for the visa application.
- Page 4: Travel and SAARC Information
- If you do not remember previous visa details, enter "0000" as the visa number and estimate the date.
- SAARC countries include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
- For references in India:
- If visiting family/friends: enter their name and contact details.
- If staying at a hotel: provide hotel name and contact.
- If not booked yet: enter a hotel you are considering.
- For reference in Lithuania: provide details of a local contact (family or friend).
- Page 5: Photo Upload
- A digital photo can be uploaded here.
- Regardless of upload, a printed passport-sized photo is always required with the paper application. You may skip this section by clicking ‘Skip and Continue’.
- Page 6: Review Information
- Review the entered information carefully. Edit if needed.
- Click ‘Verified and Continue’ to proceed.
- Page 7: Final Application ID and Printing
- A final Application ID will be generated. Save this ID.
- Click ‘Print Form’ to generate a PDF. Save the file and print it.
- Printed forms must be submitted to the Embassy. Printing facilities are not available at the Embassy.
