The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, is the leading capacity building platform of the Ministry of External Affairs, the Government of India, instituted in 1964.
It is one of the oldest institutionalized arrangements for international capacity building having trained more than 225,000 officials from 160+ countries in both the civilian and defence sector. The specially designed customized courses meet the specific capacity building requirements of various Government Agencies/Ministries and professionals.
Building on India's vast and rich network of governance- and development-related expertise available in higher educational institutions and training facilities, ITEC offers nearly 10,000 fully-funded in-person training opportunities through nearly 300 courses offered at 100+ eminent institutes in India each year.

All the major institutes of India such as: India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) New Delhi; Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi; Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh; National Law University (NLU), Jodhpur; St Stephen's College, New Delhi; Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Roorkee, Kanpur & Delhi; Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad; Indian Institute of Management (IIM) – Kozhikode; etc. are conducting courses under the ITEC Programme of Government of India
