Ambassador Devesh Uttam met Mr. Ricardas Degutis, Political advisor to Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas). He welcomed the upcoming visit of Seimas Speaker to India as part of Nordic-Baltic (NB8) Speaker’s visit later this month. The visit would deepen inter-Parliamentary dialogue and strengthen cultural and people to people ties between India and Lithuania.

Ambassador Devesh Uttam met H.E. Mr. Saulius Davainis Deputy Minister of Social Security & Labour of Lithuania. Discussions were held on early conclusion of Social Security Agreement between India and Lithuania in view of recently concluded India-EU FTA. Wellbeing of Indian professionals and workers was also noted during the meeting.

Ambassador Devesh Uttam met Political Director (Foreign Secretary) H.E. Mr. Laimonas Talat-Kelpša and reviewed - bilateral relations and exchanged views on global developments.

Celebrating the 77th Republic Day of India in Lithuania, Ambassador Devesh Uttam unfurled the flag and read the Hon’ble President’s address to the Nation. Indian diaspora and friends of India joined the celebrations with great patriotic fervour!

Ambassador Devesh Uttam hosted a reception on the occasion of 77th Republic Day of India. H.E. Mr. Vidmantas Verbickas, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs was the Chief Guest for the event. The reception was honored by the presence of Minister of Culture of Lithuania, H.E. Ms. Vaida Aleknavičienė, Members of Parliament, Ambassadors, senior government officials, Mayors, business leaders and the Indian community.

He welcomed Minister’s participation in the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026 to be held in New Delhi and held discussions to enhance India-Lithuania cooperation in the areas of trade, technology and R&D.
