Q1. How often can I apply for an Indian visa?
Lithuanian nationals may apply for a new visa even before the existing visa expires. The previously required two-month gap between visits on a Tourist Visa has been removed, subject to applicable conditions.
Q2. Do children require a visa to travel to India?
Yes. All individuals, including infants and minors, must hold a separate passport and a valid Indian visa. If a child is travelling alone or with one parent, a written consent from both parents (in English) must be submitted.
Q3. How can I obtain permission to visit restricted areas in India?
Certain regions in India (e.g., Sikkim, Andaman Islands) require a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) in addition to a visa. The Embassy of India, Vilnius can issue RAPs for up to 14 days, subject to an additional fee. Longer permits may be available from Indian authorities upon arrival.
Q4. What are the working hours of the Embassy for visa-related services?
Visa application submission: Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 12:00
Visa collection: Monday to Friday, 16:00 – 17:00
No appointment is necessary.

Q5. Can I apply for a visa by post?
Yes. Postal applications are accepted. Applicants should ensure all documents, including a printed visa fee payment receipt, are enclosed. Processing times for postal applications are generally 3–4 weeks for Lithuanian nationals.
Q6. The Indian visa website is not functioning. Can I apply at the Embassy?
No. All visa applications must be submitted online via the official portal: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html . If the site is unresponsive, kindly wait and try again after some time.
Q7. The application form reset or won’t accept my data. What should I do?
Use slashes ( / ) for dates (e.g., 20/06/2025)
If the date format is not accepted, enter approximate dates and attach a note with corrections.
Some browsers (e.g., Google Chrome or Apple Safari) may have compatibility issues. Try switching browsers or devices.
Save or print your application immediately. If lost, you can reprint it using the Application ID, passport number, and date of birth.
Q8. Can I submit the online form without uploading supporting documents?
No. Uploading all required documents is mandatory to complete the online application. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Q9. Can I pay the visa fee at the Embassy?
No. Visa fees must be paid via bank transfer only. The Embassy does not accept payments in cash or by card. A printed payment receipt, showing transaction details, must be submitted along with the application.
Q10. I paid the visa fee twice or cancelled my trip. Can I get a refund?
Visa fees are non-refundable, even in cases of rejection or cancellation.
If excess or duplicate payments have been made, you may apply for a refund within 90 days of the transaction. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. Late requests will not be processed.
Q11. Is biometric data required for visa applications?
Yes. Biometric enrolment (fingerprints and photograph) is mandatory for Employment, Student, Conference, and long-term visas.
Applicants below 12 years or above 70 years of age are exempt from biometric enrolment.
Q12. What is the visa processing time?
Lithuanian nationals (in-person): 3–4 working days
Postal applications: 3–4 weeks
Non-Lithuanian nationals: Minimum 1 week
Processing begins only after submission of complete documentation.
Q13. Can I apply for a visa online without visiting the Embassy?
Yes. Eligible applicants can apply for an e-Visa online at: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html
Q14. How often can I apply for an e-Visa?
An e-Visa can be issued twice per calendar year per applicant. If further visits are required, a regular visa must be applied for.
Q15. What documents are required for various visa types?
