Overview:
For transporting the mortal remains of an Indian national/PIO/OCI card-holder to India, the Embassy issues a No Objection Certificate (NOC) after completing certain formalities.

Requirements:
a. Miscellaneous Service form duly signed with one passport-sized photograph. [Link]
b. For Indian Passport Holders: Valid passport in original and one set of self–attested copies of the first two and last two pages of the passport and the page(s) containing passport officer’s observations (if any).
c. For Other Passport Holders: Valid passport in original and one set of self-attested copies of the passport page(s) containing personal particulars of the passport holder.
d. Proof of residence: A self-attested copy of a utility bill (telephone/electricity/gas/water or council tax bill), or Driving license, or lease deed of residence, etc., with the Lithuanian address.
e. Letter from Funeral Director/Undertaker: Confirming responsibility for documentation/formalities and transportation to India.
f. Death Certificate (original and photocopy) issued by the relevant local authority.
g. Police Report/Extract, Post-Mortem Report, and Permission/NOC for transportation out of Lithuania.
h. Doctor/Pathologist Free from Infection Certificate (original and photocopy).
i. Embalming certificate from the Funeral Director/Undertaker.
j. Flight details and contact information of the consignee in India.
k. Original passport of the deceased for cancellation (if Indian passport holder) or Original OCI/PIO card for cancellation (if foreigner).
l. If a person accompanies the mortal remains, photocopies of their passport pages with a written request undertaking full responsibility.
m. If no escort, an affidavit from the next of kin taking full responsibility for collecting the body in India.
n. Fees:
- Gratis if the deceased was an Indian passport holder.
   - For other cases: Fees - Euro 19 + Euro 2 (ICWF)

Please Note:

Only human mortal remains of Indian nationals or persons of Indian origin (PIO/OCI) are allowed to be transported to India. For the other passport holders, please contact the Embassy.
